Don't miss the inaugural meeting of the ROS/ROS2 Humanoid Robotics Community Group. We'll explore key topics in humanoid robotics and brainstorm ideas for future collaborations. The inaugural meeting of the ROS/ROS2 Humanoid Robotics Community Group covered a wide range of important topics in the field of humanoid robotics. Led by a PhD student with research experience in robotics, AI, and other areas, the meeting agenda included. Introductions of the attendees and their backgrounds, Discussion of the challenges and ethical considerations around humanoid robotics, including balance, mobility, dexterity, human-robot interaction, and societal impacts , An overview of humanoid robotics, covering the definition, history, design, components, applications, and future directions of the field, Exploration of real-world use cases in healthcare, education, manufacturing, entertainment, and research/exploration, Q&A session and discussion of resources, as well as the format of the group as both a reading group and working group, Unfortunately, the Zoom meeting experienced a cut-out at one point, so there were no full video recordings available. However, this seems to have been a productive inaugural meeting, laying the groundwork for future deep dives into specific humanoid robotics topics and opportunities for hands-on collaboration among the participants.
